Education & Skills
The U.S. faces some pressing challenges
Cuts to federal education budgets are hurting lower-income areas
Test scores between the rich and poor has widened by 40% in 50 years
Higher education is becoming increasingly unaffordable
Almost a third of employers are struggling to fill jobs due to lack of talent
How are we helping to solve this problem?
Across our funds, our Education & Skills investments have been addressing challenges like these by helping to re-engage disaffected young people with education; by encouraging more school leavers into vocational training; by targeting better academic outcomes in underserved areas; by helping to up-skill UK workers; and more.
Providing high-quality before- and after-school education to children from all income brackets
Founded in 2008, Springboard Education is committed to providing high-quality and engaging extended-day programming that supports the academic, social, emotional, and physical development and achievement of students. It does this by integrating with its partner schools and employing licensed teachers to instruct the research-based academically-focused curriculum, which has led to improved academic achievement. Springboard’s programs are available at a relatively affordable price point for working parents, which increases accessibility of its programs.
